Meeting & Events Intern

Would you like to know more about the meeting and events profession? We will take you through from start to finish and explain the basics of what the profession entails and what goes on behind the scenes. During your internship you will be working with the meeting and events teams to plan the events taking place at our hotels on a daily basis to truly understand the world of events.

Who are we?

The Babylon Hotel Den Haag is an icon at The Hague Central Station since 1978 and is part of Leonardo Hotels. Centrally located, with a fantastic view and, of course, all the famous attractions within easy reach. The hotel has 143 rooms and several special meeting rooms. On the first floor of the hotel, you will find our bar and restaurant "The Livingroom", where we delight our guests.

As Leonardo Hotels Benelux, we are within the large Leonardo Hotels Group, responsible for all activities for the 28 hotels in the Netherlands and Belgium. WHAT DOES YOUR DAY LOOK LIKE IN THE MEETING & EVENTS TEAM? 

Meeting & Events is of course about bringing in business and planning the events in our hotels and as an intern you will contribute to this. You will start with an extensive training period and during your internship you will get to know the hotels and we will introduce you to the meeting and events profession. At Leonardo Hotels, we care about YOU! We are therefore happy to coach you on your personal development and guide you with your thesis. This also includes giving you a day every week to fully devote to your thesis, because a good work-life balance is important. 

During this internship, no week is the same! The activities you perform are diverse, from organizing client events, to supporting the meeting and events teams in the broadest sense of the word. Furthermore, you will be involved in various projects, various administrative tasks and you will be involved in continuing to improve the meetings & events department. But your personal wishes are just as important: You are therefore given all the space you need, for example, to spend a day with someone or to set up a project or development yourself.

Note: You need to be enrolled in a University or Dutch Program to be qualified as an Intern

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU (ADDITIONAL TO A GREAT TEAM)?

• As a HBO student you will receive an internship fee based on €750,- gross per month fulltime, which consists of a €650,- internship fee and an €80,- expense fee. We use variable payment periods of 4 or 5 weeks at a time, according to the number of days and hours worked. So one month you will get a little less and the next month a little more.
