As a Sommelier at Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam, you will embark on an extraordinary journey, helping to maintain, develop and guide guests through our extensive wine collection. You will take the lead on delivering wine pairings and thoughtful recommendations to guests, and assist in the organization of wine lunches, dinners and other special events.
This role offers a unique opportunity to learn and develop yourself through WSET qualifications, the court of Master Sommeliers and work with one of Amsterdam’s finest wine lists, alongside colleagues who share your love for hospitality.

Main responsibilities
- Take ownership of the wine program at Bridges, offering expert guidance to patrons on wine pairings and selections to ensure an unforgettable dining experience.
- Work with our Bistro, Oriole, within the service and to maintain the standards of wine service in our award-winning restaurant.
- Assist our other outlets, regularly, gaining a knowledge of service across different environments, and to help level up service of wine across all areas of the hotel.
- Use your extensive knowledge of wines to tell exciting stories and connect with guests on a personal yet professional level.
- Assist in the management of our wine cellar, managing inventory, sourcing wines, and managing the Bridges wine list.
- Assist with the planning and execution of captivating wine events, such as tastings and producer showcases, to build relationships with returning guests and continue the legacy of wine here at The Grand. Furthermore, assist our sales and banqueting team with the organization and delivery of wine for our Magnifique Meetings and events.
